Gregory Maguire will forever be one of my favourite authors purely because he created Wicked and built upon L. Frank Baum's world. I'll admit that the first book in the series took me months to read. That was back in 2015. Son of a Witch took just over one month in 2016. A Lion Among Men took just over one week. I'll admit I was only just getting back into reading in 2015 so my skill level - not to mention my age - will have improved in that time but I do also think it's a case of getting used to Maguire's writing. I'm keen to finish up this series (though not to leave Oz behind!) and finally make a start on his other works. Of all the reading goals and challenges I ever set myself 'Read Wicked before any other Maguire' seems to be the only one I've stuck to along with my random tradition of reading him around November/December!
