The Martian by Andy Weir
5.0
From the very first word, I was hooked.
I will be honest, this was one of the free monthly books Audible offered over a year ago now. I downloaded it because 1. I liked the movie and 2. It was free. The book sat in my library for months and months until I finally decided to listen to it. WHY HADN'T I SOONER!?
I think I was worried that this overly science heavy Sci/Fi was going to confuse me, but instead it hooked me and reeled me in within seconds. I found myself listening at any moment I could, needing to know what was happening. When I wasn't listening to this book I was wondering what I would do if I was Mark. Would I have his courage and tenacity?
Any Weir was able to not only create a believable, futuristic scenario. But he did so in the manner that made me wanting more and more, even once the text was over. I think this is going to be the start of a beautifully relationship for me and Andy.
Wil Wheaton narrated the story in such a manner that it simply added to the text.
