This book is definitely a beginner dark romance, in comparison to some of the other ones out there, but my gosh what a book! There are a couple of very intense SA scenes that are a trigger risk.

My favourite thing about this book was the structure. I am so over the number of books where the characters have a previous connection and it's all told through flashbacks, but the first 30% of this book shows us Lachlan and Lyla meeting and forming their relationship. Also, there is a decent plot in this book and it doesn't take a back seat to the spice.

Lachlan was possessive, without being unhinged like the H in other DR books. He had a reason for his emotions, but he was also open to changing his mind and didn't need a redemption arc to excuse any shitty/questionable behaviour. I couldn't keep the smile off my face during all the MC interactions.

This will definitely be a book I revisit (more than a few times)
