I love this book down. I don’t think i enjoyed a romance this much in a couple months or so. I am for sure buying the physical copy. These two characters made me fall in love with them. I smiled so much my teeth were dang near out my mouth LOL. Mel you did a thing when you wrote this. Oh yea, let’s give it up for the wealthy black people. Land, houses, entrepreneurship, careers and etc.
They both grew so much and especially Jasper in a short time. Once he locked eyes on Covie it was like he immediately knew she was the one. His parents definitely raised him right from how they showed each other love. The way he treated her and was protective of her right away was beautiful. When you know you have to take that chance and go for it.
-The attention to detail for their first date. Omg!! Chefs kiss.
-Jasper was so patient and willing to learn. Also very respectful to covie.
-The way Jasper and Mr. Hurley got into later in the story was too funny. Jasper was coming at that man’s neck.
-Love the boundaries Covie set with anyone that crossed them and explained with detail.
-Her reading Jasper at the club because he thought she didn’t know certain things was too funny. Listen, Covie loves to read and will find the answer.
-Covie getting a bar installed in the house was the best.
-Loved that she was in tune with her sexuality in a way but the ceiling challenge was a “no ma’am.”
-Mr. Hurley truly pissed me off talking to his daughter that way and I’m glad grammie handled that. He wants to protect her so i get it but like he told her “play big girl games, you win big girl prizes.” She has to learn.
-Loved that covie felt safe to ask grammie certain things and she was there for her granddaughter.
-April and keslie are A1 in my book.
-Zora got everything she deserved and it sucks because her life growing up seemed to not be the best. However, she is grown and karma don’t play.
-That part of the story really hurt me. Not only what happened to Covie but also the after between her and Jasper. He was on her but they needed that complete break.
-Happy Jasper stuck to his boundary. He didn’t want to hurt his heart. He knew how he felt for Covie and was not going to mess that up.
-The school screen with Jasper warmed my heart.
-No matter who you are what you been through you are deserving of love.
