What Moves the Dead by T. Kingfisher
5.0
This was such an amazing retelling. I now want to read the original, even though I know it won't be anywhere near as good as Kingfisher tells it. As an author they make things come to life. The way this was written was enchanting. You fall in love with these characters even with the precious horse. The fungus villain is horrific in a way I haven't seen before. It's like paranormal meets science. Mushrooms truly are terrifying! Another thing to keep me up at night haha! Thank you to Kingfisher for once again writing a phenomenal horror story with realistic characters (including a ≈ nonbinary (calling khan (sp? I read the audiobook) that for the sake of simplicity) main character)!
P.S. I know that's a lot of parenthesis XD
