All in: You Are One Decision Away from a Totally Different Life by Mark Batterson
5.0
In this book Pastor Mark Batterson forces you to examine whether or not you measure your salvation by simply just being good or do you go further and allow God to do good things through you. He simply presents things in a way that challenges you to step out of your comfort zone and abandon the need to do the same things, the same way, especially when they don't grow you.
God wants to do great things in us so he can do great things through us. We just have to buy into all the he offers, allowing him access to our whole selves, not just bits and pieces. We don't have to have it all figured out or be perfect, we just need to be willing. It takes one step at a time and as you surrender your life to God, he will get you where you need to be.
There were so many great nuggets of wisdom throughout the book, in every chapter. The one that I really resonated with was found on page 57, "The spiritual tipping point is when the pain of staying the same becomes greater than the pain of change." Their are more powerful statements in the book and they all serve a purpose. I felt some made me think, some encouraged me, and some convicted me.
The chapters were the right length. Pastor Batterson was able to get his point across in each chapter without making them extremely long. He gave a lot of information in short bursts, which was good, because I never felt overwhelmed. This was a thoughtfully written book full of wisdom and I really enjoyed it.
