I’d call this a “cozy fantasy.” While in typical Sanderson fashion, I was trying to pay attention to every single little detail, this book did feel very surface level with a couple of deeper Easter eggs. It definitely has that Princess Bride whimsical vibe, which in this case actually made it feel younger YA/borderline middle grade to me. It was a cute and quick read though, with Sanderson’s epic world building and potential implications for the Cosmere and future stories. And even though I gave this 4 stars, I don’t think I’d ever bother to reread it.
