The Lies We Tell by E.Y Kelley

5.0

I just finished book 3 in the Intuitives series. And I have thoughts. Many thoughts. First, I want to say, when our fabulous EY Kelley warns that it gets dark, please heed those warnings. It does get dark and VERY triggering.

Overall- This book. Wowza- what a f*cking ride. You better buckle up cuz you’re in for it. I laughed, I cried, I got hot, I got f*cking angry. I felt every emotion. There were times I HAD to walk away  to give myself a chance to breathe. Honestly. This book was good. Soo f*cking good. 10⭐️

Yes it was dark. I can handle dark. Yes it was emotional. I can handle emotional. Yes it was all the things in between. I can handle that. I actually needed a good breaking myself and this book did it in such a good way for me.
But that god damn cliffhanger.

Jesus woman.

Now. With that being said, I have to share I understand that some people truly love a bad boy and I respect that, I’m not here to fight that. But I can’t stand Kohl. I said it. Don’t come for me. F*ck him. He can run back to mama and f*cking stay there. Please.

Seb- ooh this book. You my sir. Have had a fabulous redemption arc and although you are broody AF… I’m here for it. You’ve weaseled your way into my heart and I love it.

And Kalob- he’s f*cking perfection if I ever saw it. No other way to put it. He’s been end game since day one and I prayed that he would get his chance and this book .. chefs kiss.

But Seb and Kalob together? They are f*cking yin and yang- 2 pieces of the same puzzle. They just fit and you can’t have one without the other and I get it and I love it and I’m here for it.

I’ve felt this entire series the Lexi has gotten the short end of the stick- the decisions she’s had to make, she loses frequently. This book is no different. There are SEVERAL times this happens and that kills me for her. By the end of the book I’m asking myself- how the h3ll does she make a decision that big when she loses yet again- and this time in such a big way?

I love Nathan and James relationship and how close they are getting for Lexi’s sake. She has two very important people in her life that she cares deeply for and they both are soo needed. 🤨
