As a queer person who is a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I really loved this book. I love that they really fleshed out the characters and explored the ideas of being religious and loving God but also feeling like your church won’t accept you.
I don’t know if this is necessarily a spoiler but I’m going to mark it as one anyways. I love that they didn’t make Sebastian deny/get rid of his faith. He still loves God. He still loves the teachings and the scriptures. He disagrees with how they treat queer people, but his faith remains strong
