The Prettiest One by James Hankins
4.0
This is book number 1000 read since I joined Goodreads! Hooray! I've actually finished a couple more since then, it was a week ago, but I'm behind with reviews. This was my Kindle First choice for September, and it's a thriller with a woman finding out the mystery of what happened to her. She wakes up out of a fugue to find that she's been missing for seven months (and her husband was heavily suspected of murdering her) but she doesn't remember what happened. When she and her husband go to investigate, they find she had been living another life under another name, a slightly different personality, and was even engaged. Oh, and she might have shot and killed someone. With her husband and fiance (who she still remembers nothing from that life), she starts trying to figure out, something that will go deeper and farther back than she would have imagined. I liked Caitlin/Katie, someone finding herself, and her fiance, who helps her even though she remembers nothing of their love or life together. Her husband was super annoying. We also switch to the points of view of a detective investigating the case, and one o the bad guys. Kindle First consistently delivers good books, and this was one of them. I love how even the main character didn't know what was going on, but braves through anyway. I would recommend.
