The Panther in My Kitchen: My Life With Wild Animals by Brian Blessed

4.0

I had the pleasure of listening to Brian Blessed reading this memoir of his time spent caring for animals both tame and exotic (back in the days when there wasn't as much understanding of the ethical issues with such, as he acknowledges). The stories are touching and hilarious and it's like having a charming uncle regale you with interesting tales, though I admit I lost interest about half-way through the book. Maybe it would've helped to have it structured more like a collection of short stories/essays with more natural stopping points, but I just didn't feel compelled to listen to the rest when I saw how many hours were still remaining.
