White Rapids by Pascal Blanchet

A really near historical short story of the town of Rapide Blanc in Québec, which was formed in the 30s to accommodate employees of a nearby hydroelectric dam, but abruptly shut in the early 70s when the province nationalized the power companies. It’s a fast read that leaves you wanting more detail on individual residents but the precise, stylized retro art is so good it makes up for it. There were a couple of places where the type colour and/or fonts made the text a bit challenging to read, but overall I really enjoyed the experience.
