Into the Water by Paula Hawkins

3.0

This book was straight away written from multiple points of view which I struggled with throughout! It was in at the deep end with lots of characters!! I found myself constantly referring back to see who was who and reminding myself what was going on, which didn’t help when reading a ‘thriller’

I did find the premise of the book interesting and there was a fair bit of character development, I ended up invested in the main characters. I liked the historic elements of the drowning pool and uncovering forgotten secretes!

It touched on some deep topics including rape, suicide etc but I felt it fit the story line but it might have be wise to include a trigger warning.

The book, to me, was not a thriller... I was not gripped or in suspense but I was interested enough to read to the end as I craved a nice tidied up finish, which I’m not entirely sure I got?

My true rating is a 3.5 but put a 3 on here as no option!
