When it comes to fiction, I have an immense weakness for a man who is brought to his knees before his heroine realizes her feelings. Caleb Blackstone is a sure example of this. The moment his eyes land on Brooke Casterley, he knows she'll be his in every sense of the word. This was more than caveman mentality, but his need for permanence in his life, and the whole white picket-fence scenario made me all swoony.

Naturally, they're from two different worlds. Caleb was born into wealth and privilege, while Brooke is of another nation, and an outcast in her country of residence, as well as every other situation of her life so far.

Caleb is a force of nature, and implants himself into her life in the most gentlemanly way he knows how. When their paths cross at a dinner gala, both of their lives are forever changed. No stranger to heartbreak and tragedy, Brooke is standoffish and keeps any tingles of emotions hidden and buried deep. She isn't ready for love or a believer in happily ever after. Caleb, on the other hand, is the eternal optimist and romantic. He's patient and understanding, and by earning Brooke's trust, he learns to earn her heart as well.

This was a sweet and sappy tale, and I can't wait to see what the rest of the dynasty group brings me in the near future!
