After the Music Stopped: The Financial Crisis, the Response, and the Work Ahead by Alan S. Blinder

4.0

After the Music Stopped, written by a former vice-chair of the Federal Reserve, provides an in-depth analysis of the 2008 financial crisis. However, the main focus is on the the efforts to stabilize the financial system after the crisis (hence the title). I was just starting university as the crisis was unfolding. Even though I was studying economics, I didn’t feel like I had a good understanding of what transpired until I read After the Music Stopped. It’s a surprisingly engaging book that I recommend to anyone interested in finance, economics or policy in general.
