I am absolutely intrigued with the story. The great voice work of the new Audible edition that was relised together with the TV series helps too!
The only big hiccup for me is still the gender essentialism of the whole story. It reads as very outdated. But hey, I kinda get it. This book was written in the 90s by an AMAB author so it is not like it surprised me.
I will wait for the second book to be re-relised with the new voice-acting on Audible to continue the story.
I usually do not read fantasy, but as I now know it is actually Post-Apocalyptic which makes it is surprisingly in my wheel house! The subtle hints to the whole thing happening in OUR future
