This book was so scary! I had to stop reading it at night, because I couldn't sleep and my heart was pounding so hard. Then I wasn't going to finish it at all, but I had to know what happened. Just when I convinced myself the scary parts were in the past (she was already chained to the chair) and I could read it at night, Vess's dogs started scratching at the windows and pawing to break in the house. I couldn't decide what was scary, at that point,the dogs or Vess.
