Gulliver's Travels by Jonathan Swift

5.0

I enjoyed this book as a child for its fantastical elements. Rediscovering it as an adult, I realise what a brilliant piece of satire it is. The main character describing politics of the era to a giant, and having it related back to him as if human beings were ants building colonies in the mud, had both hilarious and insightful elements. Sadly my edition only contains the first two countries visited, apparently because they’re the least political and the most child friendly, so I’ll be tracking down the full version.
