Grimbriar by D.J. Edwardson
4.0
GRIMBRIAR is for readers who enjoy heavy action and battle and high fantasy with prose like dialogue that reminds me of the poet Lord Tennyson. The writing was beautiful and flawless, and I appreciate all of the work that went into the world and character building. The endings of chapters bring great closure with intrigue. It seems the author put a lot of work and passion into this. Bravo!
A few of my favorite quotes:
"We can only fight the battle in front of us."
"To dwell upon what could not be was a path to nowhere."
"...a voice of ruin, of bitterness and swollen offenses long guarded and nourished in dark and secret places."
"And that hope, simple and unadorned as it was, had not died."
