The Bone Shard Daughter by Andrea Stewart

4.0

There were a few pacing issues (namely the characters that werent Lin/Jovis kind of got temporarily forgotten several times) but I'm so fascinated by the type(s) of magic and the political infrastructure. Also, I love that we got a complete story in the first book but we still have the setup for sequels (which is often something that gets missed in favor of "but this is going to be a trilogy, so we'll get answers later").

I found myself really liking each of the characters as they grow from selfish and single-minded to revolutionaries. Plus, each of them comes from a different life and we get to know so much about them.

Also, the audiobook was amazing Emily Woo Zeller and Natalie Naudus are favorites of mine from audiobooks past but I definitely want to add Feodor Chin to that list for the future. Now I'm impatiently waiting for book two
