The Mysterious Affair at Styles by Agatha Christie

4.0

My first ever Agatha Christie book! I had no idea what to expect as I'm completely unfamiliar with this genre and I've never even watched any of Agatha Christie movies. But this book pleasantly surprised me. I was a bit irritated by the main character because of the way he portrayed himself (he came off as pretty silly at times) but I was still very drawn to the characters. Hercule Poirot was also very fun and interesting character and I look forward to reading more from the series.

I was only a bit disappointed by the ending. The plot had reached its climax and they were revealing the culprit and all of a sudden it skipped time to the aftermath of the whole incident and retells the great reveal of the culprit as a boring narrative.

Other than that, the book was really great. An 8/10 for me and I look forward to reading more from Agatha Christie.
