Scarred by Emily McIntire

5.0

“If something happens, know that I will find you in every lifetime, Sara Beatreaux. You are mine, and not even death can keep you from me.”

Lion King is one of my favourite childhood movies and still is.
I could watch it again and again.
The fact that Scarred is a Lion King inspired by Scar got me even more excited.

It was certainly a dark romance, but it was told so perfectly that we love the "villain" of the story.
From the beginning of the book, I was already obsessed with the read.
We can feel the power and vengeance of the characters.

Tristan's POV is so dark, but we glimpse the hurt and soft side.
His relationship with others, and especially Sara, showed who he truly was.
I think because this was more his redemption story than Sara, I feel more of his character development.
We see a slow character growth for Sara, but her story didn't give me much interest, and some of her chapters were more fillers. There wasn't really much action on her part until the very end.

Overall, the romance was told with such good explosive chemistry.
I love Tristan's redemption story.

“No, little doe, not here. They don’t get your tears.”
