Hollow Heathens by Nicole Fiorina
4.0
This is for all the weirdos who need to hear how unique they truly are.
genre: paranormal romance
pages: 524
writing: single POV / dual narration
rating: ★★★★ [4/5]
spice: open door
I absolutely loved this read for fall! I did most of my reading through the audiobook which was excellent, although…both narrators have a slight lisp which took me a little out of the story.
The book has so many great elements which makes it the perfect spooky read:
•mysterious small town
•misty Maine coast & haunted forest setting
•cursed anti-hero
•outsider FMC who works as a mortician and can see ghosts
•The Covenant vibes but make it adults
I loved Fallon and Julian and even though their romance was a constant back and worth, I was ruling for them throughout.
The story lost me a little around the halfway point and I’m not fully convinced the dual timelines was necessary but it made up for it with a great ending which has me itching to pick up the sequel.
A word of caution though, this story shows on page animal cruelty.
