I had seen this one around and getting rave reviews so when I seen the audiobook I was up on libby I had to grab it and I was not disappointed!!! I loved the gothic small town, and I thought how opal lived her life and the life she had been dealt added to the gothic vibes so well! I loved opal and thought she was so selfless taking care of her brother like she was. I know she had built up walls from how her life had been but her soft spot and love for her brother was amazing. I loved the stearling house as well, and loved the lure it had on opal. I loved Alex too, and how he wanted to help opal. I loved how the relationship went on between her and him and the house. I enjoyed the small sub plot of romance we got with! I also loved the paranormal aspect we had with this with the underworld and the beast. The only thing I wanted more of was more of a closed ending in the epilogue!
