No Place to Bury the Dead by Karina Sainz Borgo
4.25
No Place to Bury the Dead was an atmospheric novel about grief and human rituals for the dead, yes, but it was also a tangible and gripping exploration of power dynamics, gender roles, and the feeling of being trapped due to your circumstances with no way out. There are those who fight, and those who adapt. Elizabeth's translation of Karina's story and characters was so wonderfully emotional and poignant. A thought-provoking and harrowing novel.
