Embrace by Jessica Shirvington

4.0

Out of all of the angel books that I have read, unfortunately, I would have to say that this was my least favorite.

I went into Embrace, looking for a cute angel book with romance. It was all of that but I wasn't a huge fan of the guy that Violet spent a lot of time with. From the beginning and through the entire book I was team Lincoln all the way. The other guy, Phoenix, was strange. I didn't like him at all.

The other aspects of the story where Violet finds out she is a angel were just okay. It was a really basic storyline, featuring the good angels, the bad angels, and the fallen angels (in this book called exiles).

It took me a little longer to get through this than I thought it would. Even with all of the negative stuff up there, I still did enjoy it. One of the things that kept me reading was Lincoln. He was my favorite character, and the whole "forbidden love" thing between him and Violet was my favorite part of the book. Lincoln was a really caring character, and he was someone that I would want to know. I was sad when things with him and Violet didn't happen like I was hoping. With that being said, this book had my feelings all over the place.

Above I said that I wasn't a huge fan of Phoenix, but at some points I did find myself being affected by him like Violet was in the book...Ok, well anyway... I thought that Embrace was a really good book, but not my favorite take on angels that I have read.

I'd recommend this to those that like confusing love triangles and a good angel story.
