A mild improvement over the previous volume, White Sand Volume 2 is a lackadaisical romp on the planet of Taldain. The occasional assassination attempt only occasional elevates the excitement, with the main conflict being a city council meetings.

Despite the heavy exposition dumps, there is still a lot we don't know about Sand Mastery. Who exactly are the sand masters? What exactly do they do? For as much as lack of time is emphasized, there is still a lack of urgency felt in the overarching story.
