Stepping Stones: A Refugee Family's Journey by Margriet Ruurs

5.0

This is the book I needed to read today, the day after the inauguration.

Nizar Ali Badr's stone collage illustrations are so moving and full of life that I gasped when I saw the first spread.

We need more stories of the Syrian refugee experience, and I'm so glad Orca Books saw the value and importance in publishing this narrative.

Would be great in a pairing with THE JOURNEY by Francesca Sanna for another incredibly illustrated refugee story.
