Don't Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late! by Mo Willems

4.0

My students love Willems’ books, especially the pigeon books. He takes ridiculous behavior to the next level in all the best ways. I do worry that reading the book in class has given students new ideas to prolong bedtime struggles. I may become persona non grata if parents are able to link new rebellious behaviors back to their English classes.

Mother Tongue notes: Sweden’s obsession with cheap korv may have undermined the outrageousness of suggesting at hot dog party as an alternative to bedtime. What child here has not attended a hot dog party? :)
