I love retellings & this Robin Hood tale with a twist set in Regency times, with unconventional characters makes this one so fun! Loved the moonlight walks through the shadowy Sherwood Forest with mystery, intrigue & adventure. Mary Grace is half Indian/half British and and is hiding from others because of her status in society. Daines gives the reader a front row seat to see what it was like for a biracial woman in regency England. A dreamy hero, Robert who is a Robin Hood to many who are suffering but also has his flaws. I loved their scandalous meet cute… "a kiss for a hot cross bun" plus themes of loving yourself despite what others think of you! Such a surprising cast of characters that stole my heart & I love Mrs Welling who took in Mary as child and raised her with love. I especially loved Mary’s mysterious dreams of the forest & Maid Marion giving her messages… “Find Me. See Me. Free Me. Love Me.” A sweet romance a perfect read for those who love romantic suspense.
