A Girl Named Joy by Kara Jefferies
If you’re looking for a quick, easy to read romance about Joy’s journey to healing and finding herself.
Joy is pretty closed off after growing up with some complicated family dynamics as well as feeling like maybe she isn’t good enough because everyone tends to leave after her previous relationship didn’t work out too well.
We get to read about her journey in navigating friendships and new relationships as well as learning how to forgive and trust again.
I thought Xavier was the perfect person to walk into Joy’s life. Although she initially planned to keep things pretty superficial, Xavier quickly digs his way under her skin.
I really enjoyed this book and and the found family trope is my favorite.
I think this would be the perfect read for anyone who can relate to feeling rejected and unwanted and having to navigatetehow to open up again, let people in, as well as trust others not to hurt you or leave.
