I was excited to read this because I was told it has one of my favorite tropes. However, I just couldn’t get into this. This book is MESSY. Normally I like messy stories, because they’re interesting. This was just…so hard to get into.
For starters- book is 3rd person POV, which made this a struggle for me.
Then there’s the best friend Joy who is a queer woman that seemingly only goes for seemingly straight women who are married to men? I couldn't take reading Joy discuss her going after married women every single time she was on page.
This was recommended to me because of a specific trope which is one of my favorites, but the insufferable best friend and 3rd person POV made this a DNF for me. I have a bunch of mutuals who love this book though, so maybe I'll give the audiobook a shot one day....maybe.
