IMO a very strong fantasy debut!!!! This is an intense ride so buckle up!! This takes place in 2023, in DC so an urban fantasy and very political! I’d say this is a great balance of politics and magic. I really enjoyed the magic system and the complexities of it. There were some moments that were a bit hard to follow but that could definitely just be my attention span. I was able to follow the politics but ooo chile if you’re not paying attention you may get lost with the amount of moving players.


I would even say if The Green Bones Saga was your jam you may just enjoy this one.
