Always Oskar by Odessa Hywell

2.0

2 stars
I expected this story to be more disturbing, instead it was quite fluffy.
I think that's because, since the first pages, Ian and Oskar didn't act like grandfather/grandson, but more just as an ordinary age gap couple (which was very fine by me).

The thing that made me rate this book so low was that I didn't feel true love between them: it was like Ian agreed to their relationship just to please Oskar and make him happy.
And Oskar acted like an immature young man through the whole story, all the love he claimed to feel for Ian seemed just the need to be taken care of and to be spoiled.
I liked both of them, but honestly this didn't feel like romance.

Moreover, one of Ian's main concern before agreeing to a relationship was the reactions of the other Families: all those concerns are conveniently glossed away and, after just a few days of them being togheter, when nothing really happens and they don't have any issues at all, we suddenly have the epilogue set ten years in the future.
