What happens when an orc leaves her adventuring party to retire and open a cozy coffee shop in a town that never heard of coffee? Legends & Lattes answers exactly that question in a wholesome and relaxing fantasy read.
The story unfolds rather slowly, giving the reader plenty of time to settle into the setting and the characters, who were all nicely fleshed out and not stereotypical for fantasy books. I would have loved to experience more of the worldbuilding that definitely took place behind the scenes - we only get a few glimpses of how magic works in this world, for example. The book really shines with its characters and its easygoing style but has enough at stake to keep you turning the page.
Even as someone who never drank a cup of coffee in her life, I enjoyed this cute and cozy fantasy story - it felt like a roleplaying game without the gore and fighting.
