I guess this is my fault for just randomly picking this book up from the bookstore without having heard or read anything about it but the premise seemed cool and all the reviews said that it was a page turner with lots of shocking twists. literally where? there were no twists. the only thing i didn’t expect was that cat had huntingtons disease which i feel like the author didn’t even make as dramatic as she could’ve. i felt like nothing happened. and i’m also like sam and maire didn’t even actually kill anyone and there’s no way there could be any proof of them standing in the road that night. like they are totally chill. it was so obvious that lina was going to be catalina so i hoped that maybe that was a red herring but nope it wasn’t. everything about it just fell flat like it had the opportunity to be so good! nothing in it was shocking at all and it just didn’t really work for me. though this is a pretty negative review, it wasn’t the worst book in the world and I wouldn’t say it’s a complete waste of time but definitely the worst thriller i’ve read so far. it also wasn’t written super well and kinda repetitive/ spoon feeding the reader what it was trying to say. i don’t know it was just stupid.
