So Late in the Day by Claire Keegan

4.0

I think Claire Keegan can never do anything wrong. In just 43 pages, she has created a profound story with so much complexity and emotions. For such a story, she was able to explore the theme properly. Moreover, Keegan's attention to detail and depictions of the mundane are beautiful.

Spoiler Essentially, this book is about misogyny. The main character shows awareness to some extent but ultimately remains clueless about his behavior. The lack of empathy and understanding men have towards women is insane. What baffles me more is how they get shocked when women don't put up with them.
