It was a little slow at first, but then I got hooked. I was rooting for Luzia the whole time. I wanted to see her happy, successful and in love. She was a badass in her own way. I found the magic interesting. Santángel kind of weirded me out at first. I didn’t know what to make of him. He started growing on me and I loved how he would do anything for Luzia. He loved to braid and unbraid her hair. I started swooning and shipping these two further in the book. I was surprised that there was some romance in this book cause usually we don’t see much of that in Leigh Bardugo’s writing. It was a nice surprise to me. Leigh Bardugo knows how to get readers into their feelings. I was nervous how it was going to end, but I’m so happy with this ending.
