We Should All Be Feminists by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

fast-paced
i remember watching this tedtalk when i was younger and angrier and how much it helped shape the foundations of my feminist learning, but having finally gotten around to reading the book as someone now older and wiser, i find myself a little disappointed :( a little heteronormative and definitely cis-centric and not very intersectional?? or rather unwilling to realize that factors like class make SIGNIFICANT influences in the way one relates to gender but surely a good—and maybe even essential—read for other fourteen year old girls and those beginning to learn more about gender inequalities in our societies. grateful for the impact that it had on my youth!

EDIT: just found out she's transphobic😭😭😭😭 cannot in good conscience recommend this
