This is exactly what I’ve been looking for when I say I want books about queer people growing up religious. It’s not an easy thing to shake— those lessons, that shame, linger long after you’ve decided you’re done living by them. 

I’m so glad they didn’t magically come out and have everything work out in the end. I’m so glad they’re taking it day by day and figuring out.

I have very high standards for books about being raised in a conservative Christian community, and I decree it: this is a good book.
