DIALOGUE SPOILERS!!! but not really...and I loved writing this review so read it if y'all are interesed in this series/book

“Then they spread out into a line, hold hands, and bow again. Everyone is up on their feet, and none of us worry about the noise we’re making or what we might bring upon ourselves.

The twins are right. This is life.”

1. dee dum are my favorite set of twins in the whole wide universe. they are either super wise and smart or just dead funny but they're awesome badasses 24/7.

exhibit 1: “It’s not about logic or practicality or anything that makes a remote amount of sense.”

exhibit 2: “They’re mouthing the words to the garbled voice screaming over the intense electric guitar and drums blasting out of the speakers. They might look pretty badass if it weren’t for their hobo clown outfits.”

2. Raffe is my spirit animal. Actually pig farmers are *wink*

“You’re matching me up with a pig farmer?”
“He shrugs. ‘Or whatever it is that decent men do when they’re not at war. Although he should be able to protect you. Don’t settle for a man who can’t protect you.”

3. Raffe is my new boyfriend

“If I were human, I would have been the first in line for you . . .”

4. I love Raffe and his Watchers

“They won’t let any part of him fall to the ground,’ says Raffe in a quiet voice. ‘His brothers will keep him from falling.”

5. I love the name Raffe / Raphael now

“I have better things to do.’
‘Like what?’
He opens one eye and looks at me. ‘Like convince a stubborn girl to admit she’s madly in love with me.’
I can’t help but smile.
‘So if it’s not a pig farm that you want, what is it?’ he asks.
I swallow. ‘How about a safe place to live where we don’t have to scrounge for food or fight for it?’
‘It’s yours.’
‘That’s it? All I have to do is ask?’
‘No. There’s a price for everything.’
‘I knew it. What is it?’
‘Me.”

6. Where you get dating advice: Raffe. He sure knows a lot about relationships for an angel who is prohibited to have one. . . but he is immortal and has been alive for thousands of years. . .

“You should be with a nice human boy. One who takes your orders and puts up with your demands. Someone who dedicates his life to keeping you safe and well fed. Someone who can make you happy. Someone you can be proud of.”

6. Can I just say that i get teary eyed whenever something bad happens to one of paige's locusts 😭😭

7. Penryn is not my favorite character (not that i hate her or dislike her, per se) I have to admit but the story was perfect how it was written from her point of view. From what happens to her sister and her mom's background. I LOVED IT!! and I like how her mom is still the same at the end of the book because it said that this isn't something that needed fixing or needed to be changed. This tells a lot about the story, the characters and the author. I appreciated it so much how it wasn't shown as a sickness of some kind or something. Their family was absolutely perfect as the main mcs.

“Maybe they’re sick of being nothing more than rats rummaging through the trash and running for their lives. Maybe they’re ready to be human again, if only for an hour.”

Although I did have a slight problem with the details in some scenes I easily overlooked it. This is also a book that just dives into everything and I don't know if that is positive or negative, it just depends on the reader i guess.

8. The idea of this world is so genius. I have never even thought of a world even similar to this one. A post-apocalyptic world brought by angels. It's so smart and i am blown away. I'm sure it doesn't sound appealing at first but after reading it. . . this. is. just. amazing.

I am so dead and gone by this point. They have all come a long way. Ciao and peace out fam ✌🏼This is my new obsession
