Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur

5.0

So, I picked this book up years ago. I remember thumbing through and reading a few of the poems and loving them, but for some reason, I never read the entire thing front to back.

I picked it back up last month and decided to read a few each morning with my coffee. My mom and I do this together (from across the US). I take pics and send to her and we discuss. It's become a tradition that I love and cherish, and we particularly bonded over this book, because Rupi Kaur touches on so many heartbreaking but important aspects of being a woman -- a daughter, a mother, a lover, a friend, etc.

This book is, in one word, powerful. I highly recommend it and suggest sipping it slowly, little by little, like a fine whiskey.
