Spider Bones by Kathy Reichs

2.0

this was confusing as fuck. but, needless to say, i loved it.
it wasn't easy, especially not for me, to keep up with the many plot twists and discoveries. there were way too many names and diagnoses to follow, but i think that's exactly where “spider bones”'s charm lies.
i don't know how i couldn't see samoans coming from a mile, given the hawaii location, but this was such a nice surprise. i enjoyed the representation quite a bit, even though it got lost in a sea of many more characters and findings.
also, i don't care how random this sounds, but i love how literal the titles in this series are. thirteen books in, i know this, but each and every time i find myself wondering about their meaning. when i first started reading “spider bones”, i wasn't expecting it to mean what it did. no spoilers.
i don't know when i'll be able to read more, but i don't mind taking a break from this universe. as much as i love temperance and the rest of the gang, i feel like reading something else can only do me some good.
