I was stuck between rating 3 or 4 stars, but I went with 3 after reading some of the other reviews and seeing it was “okay” to rate low. (I feel badly rating someone's art so low!)
It took me a long time to get into the story because of the present tense it's written in. I'm used to a “she walked into the room and said” format instead of “she walks into the room and says.” It was really off-putting, coupled with the slow storyline. Once I got used to it, and some character development started, I started to enjoy the book more.
I wouldn't ever call this a GREAT read, but I did finish it and am ready for the discussion with my book club later this month!
