The Unraveling of Cassidy Holmes by Elissa R. Sloan

4.0

I am a huge fan of music and behind-the-scenes of famous musicians (blaming you, VH1 & Pop-Up Video).

Giving some serious kudos to author Elissa R. Sloan for a great debut novel. The reader is guided on the journey of four teenage pop stars and their rise to fame. This story looks at the darker side of the music industry in a wholly realistic fashion.

Told from multiple perspectives and dual timelines, there was a lot to digest with this book. I felt the depth of each of the four main characters - which can be so difficult for a writer to accomplish.

I enjoyed the early 2000's pop nostalgia that this book brought as well as odes to early reality TV shows like "American Idol" when it first aired.

I will say at the end I literally yelled, "No!!! Are you serious?" So take that however way you'd like...
