I was skeptical about this book but my partner was excited about it. It seems like it's probably a good book, I really enjoyed Children of Time and Children of Ruin, and the writing did seem compelling for what it is, but this type of fantasy is just not really my jam. Not really interested in a book that seems like it's centered on a war, and the half hour that I listened to only had one female character who immediately died. Haha. (This is not a spoiler, she was an unnamed old woman). Just not for me.
