“Grief is a nonlinear line, following you in your life, sometimes curling up your legs like a cat and sometimes throwing its thorns into your calves like a blackberry bush.” - This was what I wrote when I was still in middle of reading this book and I still stand by it.
Dustin grew as a writer and I think there is quite a growth from his first book “You’ve Reached Sam” to Haru. However, if I can say one thing, it is another incredible book which hits hard, making you cry because of the things you see but even more from the point you don’t see coming. It is a super beautiful story and I highly recommend it to anyone who needs a bit of hope, a bit of love and a bit of healing.
