Ooooeeey, this was a page turner! My girl Madame Secretary Hillary Clinton penned this thriller in collaboration with Louise Penney, and it just runs from start to finish. A novice Secretary of State has just started her role in the administration of her rival, after a criminally incompetent president has left American diplomacy in shambles. Within a month of taking office, a series of terrorist attacks worldwide have this SecState on a wild race around the globe to try to stop the next one from occurring. There are for sure some wild and outlandish moments, but it's just a gripping read. I also REALLY loved how SO many characters were women - all the main characters, and even a lot of throwaway one-line characters (powerful people! Pilots! Army colonels!) were women. It's a ride!
