Audiobook: 5/5 || Narrator: 5/5

This book made me feel a lot of emotions and I can’t describe in enough words how beautiful it is. I can’t recommend this book enough to check out.

Calahan Skogman brought a powerful debut novel to life through the story of Cash and the town of Johnston. The story is heartwarming yet heartbreaking at the same time. Hearing the tales of the good and bad with Cash, his friends, and their lives in this small town. There’s so many heart wrenching themes in this story, particularly the loss of a loved one & not so great parental relationships.

This book reads as a love letter to what being human is all about. The connections and memories make, as well as, the places we experience in life. How we shape ourselves into who we become through our life experiences. How we allow these experiences to guide us through life.

The characters in Blue Graffiti all had personal and unique life storylines and I found them all very easy to relate to. Reading this, it felt like I was sitting right there with Cash and his friends, at Jimmy’s, listening to all their big ideas and plans.
