Another beautiful nightmare from a master of the form and genre. For Ito fans, this is a fast-paced delight, much more short story in its pacing than some of his work, but, in execution and in themes of control, ownership, cruelty, and survival at the end of the world, it feels like a supercharged Uzumaki. Excellent!
